زمینه و هدف: بیماری پریودنتال شایع‌ترین مشکلات سلامت دهان و دندان محسوب می‌شود که با آموزش بهداشت، پیشگیری و تشخیص زودهنگام می‌توان از پیشرفت آن جلوگیری کرد. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی وضعیت پریودنتال در زنان سن ازدواج با استفاده از شاخص اصلاح‌شده پریودنتال جامعه (Modified CPI: Modified Community Periodontal Index) در سال 1398 در شهر زنجان انجام شد.
روش بررسی: در قالب یک مطالعه توصیفی، اطلاعات 201 پرسش‌نامه که بین زنان سن ازدواج شهر زنجان به‌صورت مقطعی توزیع شده بود، همراه با معاینه کلینیکی افراد، بررسی شد. از آزمون‌های کروسکال والیس و کای دو برای تحلیل نتایج استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها: 6 درصد از افراد عمق پاکت بیش از 3 میلی‌متر داشتند. 28 درصد از افراد دچار خونریزی و 15 درصد دارای فقدان چسبندگی بودند. بین شغل و عمق پاکت دندان‌های فکین بالا و پایین رابطه معنی‌داری وجود داشت (005/0، 019/0=p). بین وضعیت خونریزی لثه‌ها و شغل (022/0، 019/0=p)، خونریزی و تحصیلات (001/0>p)، خونریزی و مصرف سیگار (001/0>p)، خونریزی و مصرف الکل (001/0>p) و خونریزی و تعداد دفعات مسواک‌زدن (001/0>p) ارتباط معنی‌دار بود. همچنین بین ازدست‌دادن چسبندگی و مصرف سیگار (001/0>p) و ازدست‌دادن چسبندگی و مصرف الکل (001/0>p) ارتباط معنی‌دار بود.
نتیجه‌گیری: کاهش مصرف سیگار و الکل و افزایش اطلاعات زنان خانه‌دار در زمینه مراقبت از دندان می‌تواند به بهبود شاخص پریودنتال جامعه در این قشر از جامعه منجر شود؛ بنابراین، آموزش سلامت دهان و افزایش آگاهی افراد در این زمینه ضروری به نظر می‌رسد.
