Background and Objectives Knowledge is a valuable and strategic resource and knowledge creation is not possible without a culture of learning. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effect of organizational learning culture component on knowledge creation in public hospitals.
Methods This descriptive-analytical and exploratory study was performed on 570 employees of public hospitals in Qom. Data were collected using standard researcher-made tools. Instrument validity was assessed through content validity, convergent validity and reliability by Cronbach's alpha and combined reliability. Data were analyzed through heuristic and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling using SPSS software version 20 and Lisrel version 8.8.
Results The mean and standard deviation of the components of learning culture and knowledge creation were 3.11±1.35 and 3.42±1.11, respectively. Exploratory factor analysis showed that KMO=0.944 and Bartlett sphericity test were significant at the level of 0.001. Cronbach's alpha components are 0.972 and 0.974, respectively, and combined reliability is 0.824 and 0.847, respectively. Convergence validity was 0.884 and 0.846, respectively. Exploratory factor analysis categorized constructs into two parts: learning culture and knowledge creation, and confirmed its fit criteria.
Conclusion The results showed that the component of learning culture has a positive and significant relationship with knowledge creation. Therefore, the support of senior managers in holding training workshops entitled "Culture of learning and knowledge creation in the hospital" can be useful for staff in creating knowledge.
