Background and aim: Several factors affect the stability of the family among which we can mention the satisfaction of couples with sexual relations, If this relationship is not convincing, it will eventually lead to the disintegration of the family. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the factors related to sexual satisfaction based on the PRECEDE model in women referring to comprehensive health service centers in Torbat Heydarieh city.
Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional-descriptive study, 300 married women covered by the comprehensive health service centers of Torbat Heydarieh city were selected by sequential quota sampling in 2019. The collection tool was Enrich's 47-question Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire and a researcher-made questionnaire that examined the factors related to sexual satisfaction. Data analyzed in SPSS software using Pearson's correlation coefficient and linear regression.
Results: There is a significant and direct correlation between the score of sexual satisfaction with knowledge (r=0.18), attitude (r=0.25) and predisposing factors (r=0.35) (p<0.001) and the intensity of this relationship is is weak. Attitude and predisposing factors predict a total of 20% of the variance of sexual satisfaction variable (p<0.001).
Conclusion: The results of the present study showed a significant relationship between knowledge, attitude and predisposing factors with sexual satisfaction. Considering the predictive role of attitude and predisposing factors on sexual satisfaction, it is suggested to use appropriate interventions to prevent the disintegration of the family foundation by emphasizing the attitude and predisposing factors.
