زمینه و هدف: با افزایش آمار سالمندان در ایران و به تبع آن افزایش چالش‌های سالمندی، مانند کاهش خودکارآمدی، شناسایی عوامل مؤثر بر خودکارآمدی می‌تواند در ارائه برنامه‌های مداخله‌ای کمک‌کننده باشد. پژوهش حاضر با هدف تعیین خودکارآمدی و ارتباط آن با راهبردهای مقابله و منبع کنترل در سالمندان انجام گرفت.
روش بررسی: پژوهش حاضر یک مطالعه توصیفی‌تحلیلی از نوع مقطعی است. 100 سالمند بالای 60 سال به شیوه نمونه‌گیری در‌دسترس وارد مطالعه شدند. ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها، پرسش‌نامه 4 قسمتی، شامل اطلاعات فردی و اجتماعی، پرسش‌نامه خودکارآمدی عمومی، پرسش‌نامه راهبرد مقابله‌ای و پرسش‌نامه منبع کنترل کلی بود. از نرم‌افزار آماری spss و از آزمون‌های یومن ویتنی، کروسکال والیس و رگرسیون جهت تجزیه‌و‌تحلیل داده‌ها استفاده شد و 05/0‌p< از‌نظر آماری معنی‌دار در نظر گرفته شد.
یافته‌ها: اکثر شرکت‌کنندگان در مطالعه، مرد (8/66 درصد) با میانگین سنی 5/3±9/63 بودند. میانگین نمره خودکارآمدی 2/4±4/30 به دست آمد. نتایج آزمون رگرسیون نشان داد از بین زیر‌مقیاس‌های راهبردهای مقابله، مقیاس اجتنابی، خودکارآمدی را به‌طور معنی‌دار پیش‌بینی می‌کرد (04/p=0). ارتباطی بین مقیاس‌های منبع کنترل با خودکارآمدی مشاهده نشد.
نتیجه‌گیری: سالمندی می‌تواند احساس خودکارآمدی را تحت تأثیر قرار دهد. شناخت دقیق و مدیریت مناسب عوامل تأثیر‌گذار بر فرایند سالمندی و چالش‌های احتمالی آن، مانند خودکارآمدی پایین می‌تواند در ارتقای سلامت جسمی، روحی و روانی سالمندان جامعه کمک‌کننده باشد.
