Background
Vaccination is one of the most effective methods of disease prevention and the basis for improving health in the world. Lifestyle also consists of people's daily behaviors and ways of dealing with problems. The present study has investigated the relationship between health-promoting lifestyle and receiving the Covid-19 vaccine in Qom city in 2023.
Methods
The current research is a cross-sectional study; its statistical population was people living in Qom city who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. In this study, the demographic information checklist and the HPLP II lifestyle promotion questionnaire were used, which examines the dimensions of a healthy lifestyle, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, health responsibility, interpersonal support, and self-actualization.
Result
The current study was conducted on 305 people living in Qom city, 160 of them (52.5%) were men and 145 were women, and about 84.6% of them had a history of covid-19 vaccine injection. The mean and standard deviation of the score of the lifestyle enhancing questionnaire was 133.91 ± 20.42. There was a statistically significant relationship between the dimension of health responsibility with the injection of the Covid-19 vaccine and the number of vaccine doses received (P=0.01).
Conclusion
The health-promoting lifestyle as an important factor in increasing vaccine coverage was average, and in terms of exercise and nutrition, it was below average, which necessitates education and motivation and planning to increase the health-promoting indicators as much as possible among the general public.
