Background and purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness and neurofeedback on structure, arousal, satisfaction and patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Research method: This study was a semi-experimental type of pre-test, post-test and follow-up with two groups. The research population included all the women of the Karaj MS Association in 2019, 16 of whom were selected using a targeted method and were randomly assigned to two 8-member groups of mindfulness and neurofeedback. To collect data, the Women's Sexual Distortion Questionnaire (FSDDI( by Naderi et al. (2019( and Kettle's Anxiety Questionnaire (Dadestan and Mansouri, 2018( were used, which were administered before and after the effectiveness and 2 months after the intervention. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 26 software and repeated-measures analysis of variance.
Findings: According to the analysis of variance with repeated measurements, the effect of group and time was significant in the comparison between mindfulness and neurofeedback groups. In the arousal component, the group effect was not significant, but the time effect was significant. The satisfaction component of the effect of group and time was significant. In the anxiety component, the group effect was not significant; But the effect of time has been significant.
Conclusion: Mindfulness has improved desire and satisfaction by reducing anxiety, and neurofeedback has improved desire and arousal by reducing anxiety and has been effective in the satisfaction component with a smaller effect size.
