Abstract:   (318 Views)
Background and Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the quality of life of nurses. The aim of the present study was to predict the quality of life based on psychological capital and personal values with the mediating role of self-differentiation in nurses working in the COVID-19 ward.
Methods: The present study is of an objective, applied, and descriptive correlational type. The statistical population included nurses working in the COVID-19 wards of hospitals in Qom City in 2021. A total of 162 nurses were selected as a statistical sample using purposive sampling along with inclusion and exclusion criteria. In order to collect data, the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire WHOQOL (1996), Luthans psychological capital questionnaire (2007), Schwartz personal values survey (2006), and Skowron et al. self-differentiation questionnaire (2003) were used. The data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis, and path analysis. SPSS software, version 24 was also employed for data analysis.
Results: Psychological capital and personal values had a direct and significant effect on quality of life, predicting 14% and 15% of the variance in quality of life, respectively. Additionally, psychological capital and personal values, with the mediating role of self-differentiation, have explained 15% and 51% of the variance in quality of life, respectively.
Conclusion: Psychological capital and personal values, with and without the mediating role of differentiation, can increase the quality of life.
