Background and Objectives: Nowadays, there is an increasing emphasis on workplace mental health promotion. On the other hand, mental disorders can effectively change individuals and their job. This study was conducted with the aim of assessment and comparison of workers’ mental health and its components among different industries in Qom Province.

Methods: This study was performed as a descriptive cross-sectional study on the mental health level in workers of industries in Qom province, 2014-2015. Information were collected from 379 workers (seven industries of Qom Province). The study tools were demographic questionnaire and Goldberg’s General Health Questionnaire-28(GHQ-28). Data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation statistical tests.

Results:In this investigation, the age of the workers ranged from16-62 years with the mean of 33.58±10.06 years. Social dysfunction and depression symptoms, respectively had the highest (5.97) and lowest (2.42) mean scores. The score of GHQ score was 17.78±9.84. Of these subjects, 30.4% were in undesirable condition in anxiety and sleep disorders, and 40.2% in social function. Also, There was a significant difference between single and married workers in terms of subclasses of general health psychological distress (p<0.05). Furthermore, the correlation between GHQ-28 subscales and total scale was satisfactory and ranged between 0.59 and 0.86 (p<0.05(.

Conclusion: According to the results of this study, although overall level of general health subscales of the worker was not at undesirable level, the findings showed mental disorders among the workers.
